Congratulations to The Stafford team for their outstanding commitment to quality patient care! The team earned their fourth consecutive deficiency-free survey, the highest score possible.
The rigorous inspection
The survey is an on-site inspection conducted by the Department of Human Services based on guidelines outlined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. It examines resident quality of care and quality of life, dietary services, fire safety, and environmental services.
The examination includes interviews with residents, residents’ family members, and Stafford employees. They also evaluate training records and electronic charts.
The Stafford Executive Director Ceci Fields believes their success stems from her team’s firm commitment to striving to provide the highest quality of comfort and care to their residents.
“We’re always in survey mode,” Fields said. “We make sure everything we do is going through Avamere’s policies and procedures and the systems that are in place.”
Commitment to quality
The Stafford’s survey results align with Avamere’s Quality Improvement Priority, one of the six priorities at the company’s focus. The Avamere team prioritizes quality outcomes as they strive to create a positive resident and patient experience.
One resident sums up The Stafford’s commitment to quality while voting for the employee of the month, casting two votes for Cara Hall and Ceci Fields.
“These two women are absolutely amazing,” the resident said. “Cara is such a caring nurse who goes above and beyond for the residents and actually knows each of them. Ceci is truly the advocate for the staff and residents. And let’s not forget they were deficiency-free again!”
An open-arms community
The Stafford team’s commitment to quality doesn’t stop with their residents and patients. They welcome the entire Lake Oswego area to experience the Avamere culture, creating a space for local high school students and parents for activities like tutoring and prom pictures. The students also perform for the residents and invite them to attend events at the high school.
“We’re an open-arms community,” said Rita Segura, Marketing Director at The Stafford.
